Esta es una de las técnicas de tejido colombianas más famosas en el mundo. Proviene de los antiguos indígenas Zenú y su máximo representante es el sombrero vueltiao. Este último se hace con fibras de caña flecha blanqueadas o naturalmente teñidas de negro.
Los artesanos trenzan dibujos, también llamados “pintas”, que representan figuras de la naturaleza. Estas trenzas se hacen con distintas cantidades de fibras: cuanto más se utilicen, más fina será la pieza. La elaboración de un sombrero tarda, en promedio, diez días. Esta pieza cuenta con el sello Denominación de Origen, certificando así que es de la más alta calidad.

Artisans braid designs, also called “pintas”, portraying images from nature. These braids are crafted using different amounts of threads: the bigger the amount, the finer the piece. An average hat lasts roughly ten days in the making. Through innovation, new products like wallets, rings, purses, and tablemats have started being developed in caña flecha.
